We came home from a weekend trip tonight, Sunday. Am I tired? Sure. The ride home was 5 hours. Not bad at all considering we made a stop at one rest station. I am known for having a tiny tank, so I had to go use the WC once on the way back. Can you guess where we went by seeing some of the pictures you see here?
The answer is New York City. The main purpose of our trip was to meet our friends’ baby who was just born this past February. My husband was the best man at this friend’s wedding. We wanted to make sure that we would meet the baby before our big move because otherwise we didn’t know when would be our next chance to meet him.
The pictures on this post are the summary of our stay. Our time in NYC was only for 3 days, but I have so many pictures that I needed to compartmentalize and organize the photos from the trip. I hope that the photos posted on this entry will give you a good picture of our trip although this is only a small part of the album of the trip. In the next several days, I plan on posting about Central Park, F・A・O・Schwarz, Brooklyn Flea Market, Ground Zero, and streets of NYC.
If we had more time to spend in NYC, we would’ve contacted all of our friends who live in New York, but unfortunately, it was simply impossible for us to arrange to meet both sides of our friends with the time allowed in the city. Therefore, this time, we narrowed down to a few of my husband’s friends, whom I consider my friends as well.
Our friends, whom we went to see, generously offered us to stay with them during this trip. It must not be easy to host a family of four, of whom two are very young. They, however, generously welcomed us into their two bedroom apartment. Our girls absolutely loved spending time with our friends, their baby, and dog. My older one said she didn’t want to come home.
We drove to the city from Northern Virginia. Luckily we didn’t hit any terrible traffic on the way up there or back here. Our girls were troopers and quietly watched two movies on both ways, which made us realize how much they have matured.
Now we’re back home and the reality kicks in. We’re happy to be home though. When you have small children, it’s so much easier to have routines down. I love traveling, but now I have two small children, the post traveling part has gotten a bit tougher. I have a basket full of laundry that is about to collapse. Well, we left our friends with a full load of laundry because we stayed with them, which I think could be worse. I feel sorry for them…
I hope you will come back to read about the places we have visited in New York City this past weekend. I’ll do my best not to slack off…

I especially love the two girls holding hands running. Looks like a tall Kaho taking care of a small Phil! Really cute!
