Trunk Shopping In Mumbai
My friend took me to a new trunk shop, Janata Trunk Depot near Chor Bazaar in Mumbai the other day. You can see the location of Janata Trunk Depot in the map below. I loved the color selections at this Janata Trunk Depot. However, in terms of sizes, The Gujrat Trunk Depot in Crawford Market, the first place another friend of mine took me about a year and a half before this time, had bigger size options which are great to use in a living room as a coffee table. (Shown in the photo below) It is a bit low for a coffee table, but it suffices at my place.
Janata Trunk Depot has many colorful ones as well as subtle colors that I like. I bought one light blue in a small size, one silver in a medium size and one white in a large size. The white trunk which I bought in the largest size at Janata Trunk Depot was slightly smaller than the cream color one I purchased at The Gujrat Trunk Depot. The paint work for the white trunk sold at Janata Trunk Depot is prettier. I liked the paint colors offered at Janata Trunk Depot. Janata Trunk Depot is 1.5 km north of Crawford Market where The Gujrat Trunk Depot is located, so you could go to both places. With traffic, it can take some time even though it’s only 1.5 km.
I love having trunks for interior decor and storage purposes. They are very inexpensive in India. They can look adorable stacked on top of each other as a side table or night stand. You can use them to store toys, linens, towels, seasonal decorative items and so forth. You can even check them in at an airport counter as luggage. As my family and I pursue an expat life, metal suitcases like these that are versatile are our friends.
I attached a map for you in case your driver doesn’t recognize where this is by the address. I hope this post is helpful for you.
