Update: The Clinic Bar was closed.
Photos taken with Canon PowerShot S3IS
I’m not completely done with my Bali posts to put a closure on my summer vacation posts, but I am almost done. I thought that I will veer away from my summer post and bring up those photos of a bar in Clark Quay (quay pronounces “key”) in Singapore now for this Wednesday interior post.
Some of you might recall that my daughter was medically evacuated to Singapore from Jakarta for a surgery of a swollen gland under her jaw that she developed in June of this year. We had two nights to spend in Singapore after the surgery before we could fly back to Jakarta.
On the last day in Singapore, my husband, our daughter and I went to Clark Quay for dinner. I did a little research online beforehand to figure out a good place to eat and I came across a bar called Clinic. It was ranked high in restaurant and bar ranking and The Clinic bar stayed in my memory because it looked unique and interesting. When we were walking around in Clark quay, I spotted The Clinic and got very excited!! Luckily many of the seatings were outside, so it was easy to see the design of the bar. I asked the bar employees if I could take some photos and they didn’t mind. Thank you!
I’ve never seen a bar with a design of a clinic: gold wheelchairs and white hospital looking sofas, lights from a surgical room, and so forth. My daughter just came out of hospital a day before and I thought how funny! So, I took a picture of her on a funky chair with red and green IV looking plastic bags. It would be interesting to see what they have on the menu and how they serve their drinks, don’t you think?

This place is a riot! I have never seen this theme done at a bar. Being a nurse, I’m not sure I would feel comfortable eating here! LOL 🙂

Your little girl is adorable on that chair 🙂
When this place first came out, it was met with loads of complaints that it was too morbid and such – I think part of the club included a mortuary but I wonder if that has been removed since. Now I guess it has grown on us.

I was there few years back, so fun but bit creepy, especially one drink come into IV packaging and the color is bloody red…phewww…
I miss Bali too, I wish I can revisit soon. Btw I will be going to Bandung next week. Cant wait to explore 🙂

How nice is that.. I’ve only been to Clarke Quay once… And I didn’t know the right pronunciation until a few weeks of our stay in Singapore haha..

im not surprised, great minds think alike 😉
i really need to get my hands on that jacket btw. been looking for it for a year now, and when it was in store i couldn’t afford it..now it’s too late. I’m guessing the people who bought it won’t ever let it go.. I wouldn’t, that’s for certain.
Hope you’re enjoying your saturday, I’m just drinking some beers and relaxing after a long week of work. x
