We went to Sushi Yoshi for happy hour dinner tonight. It’s our favorite sushi restaurant in the D.C. metropolitan area. The factors for deciding our favorite sushi restaurant are fresh fish, kids friendly atmosphere, prices and proximity. This restaurant is located in Vienna, VA, which is about 15 to 20-minute drive from us without traffic. The happy hour prices were very inexpensive, but again we ordered so much that the bill ended up being more than I anticipated. It was well worth spending the money though.

I’ve got to eat “ikura”, salmon roe, which is my favorite. As you can see, four of us licked the plate. I like going to a Japanese restaurant because there are always dishes both of our kids like to eat. Have you heard of “natto“? It’s fermented soybeans. My kids and I love natto, but my husband despises it. Too bad… I can see why though since it has a very distinctive smell, which is not so pleasant unless you’re used to it. Between two of our kids, they finished 2 orders of natto rolls. They also had miso soup and edamame. By the way, when my husband and I were pregnant with our first, we called our fetus “edamame” because we didn’t find out the sex of our baby until birth and we thought that it was a cute nickname.
Those are my happy finds at Target. I didn’t know about the brand called B. Toys until today. I absolutely love their new line of toys. Aren’t those just adorable? Their new site has not been launched yet. I cannot wait to see it!! The toys above are not for my kids unfortunately. I wish they were though. We have been invited to many birthday parties, so they will disappear from our apartment by next weekend. Target also has a section for retro toys. I heart them, too.

Oh that looks like GOOD Sushi!!
We have Target in Australia too but I think it is a little different to the American version- still a nice place to shop though 🙂
How cute that you called your first bub edamame! We called Noah “Goma-chan” because he was the size of a sesame seed when we found out we were pregnant. We still call him that sometimes now occasionally.
ps: I hate nato too!

I had no idea that you have Target in Australia, too. Maybe one day I’ll go check it out! Goma-chan! That’s so cute!

Oh, man..! How I miss good sushi. We used to go to a place up in Woodley Park (I don’t remember the name), close to the zoo. It had the best sushi.
Edemame – that’s cute! Little bean! Have a wonderful weekend, Kaho!

Is it Tono Sushi? I haven’t been there yet. We used to go to Sushi Taro, but it went through renovation and changes. Now it’s more of an upscale restaurant where you don’t feel comfortable going with small kids. We called our second “bean”. We still do sometimes. 🙂 Have a great weekend, Maria!!

That sushi boat looks awesome!! I need to go this place someday.
Upper left toy, Sophie had it once, but I guess we got rid of it when we move. Anything for you from Target?
Kaho says
Nothing for me from Target. I have gone there way too often and spent more than I should! I bought 3 pairs of shoes today (I know, yes, I went there again…) for my girls. Danger, danger.

I have to try this restaurant too!! Did you have “uni” sea urchin too? I usually try it wherever I go to see how fresh the fish is.
Kaho says
Ah, Uni…. I tried uni a coupe of times before and couldn’t like it…. I heard about that. I wish I could eat uni!
