When we found out that we were coming to Mumbai some time last year in 2012, one of the things I was curious about and checked was whether there was a Starbucks store or not. After a research I learned that the very first Starbucks in India opened in Mumbai in October, 2012. That news made me so happy!
I drink more tea than I drink coffee now, so that’s perfect for me to be in India. I, however, still enjoy indulging in drinking coffee when I feel like having some, especially at Starbucks. When we had a little outing as a family this past Saturday to R-City Mall, one of the biggest malls in Mumbai, we stopped at Starbucks. I loved their decor inside the shop with a touch of Indian design. Paisley wall decor in reddish-brown is gorgeous.
I hope you enjoyed seeing the Starbucks store in R-City Mall in Mumbai. Once you walk inside the Starbucks store, it feels just like the one in the U.S. and Starbucks latte tasted just like in the U.S. That’s why I love Starbucks. You know what to expect and you know that the quality is consistent. You do not get to experience the same with other stores. Plus, I love the ambiance of Starbucks. It is very welcoming and relaxing.
I am yet to try the very first Starbucks in Elphinstone Building, Horniman Circle in Mumbai. I can’t wait to see it with my own eyes!

Glad you’re back on the blog!
I feel the same about Starbucks…though it may not be cool to admit in this era of local and artisanal mania, I do love a good Starbucks latte for the very reason that it is easy and familiar, no matter where I am!
Also, I got a big kick out of McDonald’s in India. They actually had some really yummy veggie things when I lived there. McPaneer or something!

Hi, Erika! Thanks for visiting!! I have to go check out McDonald’s then! I think India is a vegetarians’ heaven! There are so many vegetarian options. I am not vegetarian at the moment, but the selection really inspires me to be one.

Thanks for sharing, Kaho! I actually always do the same when researching a new place: the Starbucks test, and what the Japanese restaurants are like!

Thanks for visiting, Joy!! It’s so interesting that Starbucks totally hook you. I’m intrigued by their magic. Japanese restaurants are also a big factor for me! We actually went to one that was good. It made me very happy, too!

Starbucks Mumbai is a great place to relax, sit back and enjoy coffee and the awesome aroma.
They have the best coffee and the best interiors as compared to other brands.
