Three, two, one…
BLAST OFF!
As said on the invitation card, it really felt like we flew out to a different planet in space. It was a special birthday party for Evan, the son of my friend, Ana, of Stumble Abroad. She designed her second son, Joshua’s Nautical Birthday Party only a month and a half prior to this Space Theme Birthday Party. I don’t know how she does it. I’m a type of mom who tells the friends that my policy is to wait till my kids turn 4 to have a birthday party. I saw the decoration in the party room and thought, I could not even begin to imagine the time and efforts, let alone money, that had to be put into creating this birthday party. This is a type of party that many people pay a professional to do.
Space Ship
According to Ana’s husband, they spent hours making this space ship. The kids absolutely loved going inside the space ship to play in it.
Birthday Boy In Space Suit
My girls came home with these cool space ship bottles. (I personally think they should’ve left these for the boy guests… They got to them faster than I thought of it.)
My son is wearing a bindi on his forehead because my first daughter found it in my jewelry drawer and wanted to stick it on him. Yes, he’s pretty much a toy to my girls…
My friend and my son. He is loving to be held by her.
Happy Birthday, Evan!
I hope you enjoyed seeing the photos of the Space Theme Birthday Party!
What a fun way to celebrate a birthday. Kudos to Ana!
Ana, can you surprise me with a birthday party for me like this because my husband wouldn’t? I’ll send you ideas for themes. I’m just kidding…
Maybe.
Ana Gaby says
Thank you for posting this Kaho! I love the pictures of Evan! And you give too much credit! A lot of the stuff is hand made or printed at home so we really don’t spend that much money.I tried to hire a party planner for Joshua’s and I ended up spending less than half than what she was charging. We are all about recycling and reusing party supplies hahah! Once again thank you so much for joining us and for the lovely pictures…. So, when’s your birthday again? Maybe we should go bollywood to celebrate you before you leave!
Kaho says
I always recycle, too. It’s great that you plan so that you know how to save money. That’s probably the best part of your doing the party planning for your children! I know you’re good at finding deals, too. You’re welcome about the photos. Let me know if you need these photos.
Ana Gaby says
I would love them! Specially the ones of Evan! The few times I tried to take a picture he ran away!!!
Kaho says
Ana, he ran away from me, too! I have so many blurry ones I had to delete. I will try to upload the photos again on the Flickr site.

Ana, Do you mind answering the question that Wanda has for you? I could ask her to send you an email, but I think there might be others who will be able to take advantage of your answers, so if possible, I would love for you to answer in the comment section. However, if you would like to invite her to check your blog if you plan on posting information about printables and where to print them in the future, that would be great, too!
padmajas says
Kaho, did your friend make the spaceship all by herself. Wow, i would like to get the link for the source from her because my son is participating in his school art competition probably i can help him do this huge spacecraft. Your son looks very cute in bindhi.
Kaho says
Padmajas, My friend, Ana, and her husband made them. She can be reached at her blog. It would be a great art project for a competition!

Hi Kaho.. I don’t read other people’s blog often. But I just love reading your blog. Apart from being artistic, it is full of information too.. I can’t wait to see what you will post next. By the way, I’m just curious if you know how your friend get the party printables like what she had in the party (i.e. the bottle tags, the triangle shape flags that says happy birthday, the cute round printable card on top of the cupcake). Is there a special software and paper to use, or should we go to a specific place to print them? I’m thinking of having these printables for my daughter’s birthday in Jakarta. Thanks Kaho..
Kaho says
Wanda, what a nice compliment!! Thank you. I got excited to read your comment. Let me ask my friend to help me with the answers. I believe she downloads the files from somewhere, but I don’t know the specific site and she takes them to a print store in Jakarta. There are many print stores that would print if you bring an USB thumb drive.
Ana Gaby says
Hi ladies.
@Padmajas my husband made the spaceship himself. He made it out of recycled cardboard. He was trying to make a sort of replica of the StarWars SnowSpeeder. He is an engineer and just figures out how to make awesome shapes. He also made a cardboard boat for my younger son’s birthday. You can see some pictures of the process on my blog. I will be posting about the spaceship soon. I hope your son’s project turns out awesome!
@Wanda I usually buy the party printables out of etsy. I just look for the theme and pick the one I like the best. After paying via PayPal they email you the PDFs and I print them at Snappy. For the banners I use 210gm art paper and for the labels I use glossy 130 gm paper. I have uses totful memories and printastic designs and I really liked both.
Please let me know if you have any more questions. Take care!

I’m so wowed by the nitty gritty details of the birthday theme, she must be a creative mum 🙂 If I were to host such a party for Laura, I might end up hiring a party planner, lol.
Kaho says
Elaine! Yes, Ana is a super creative mom! She also does a lot of volunteer work, too. If I did, I would have to loose sleep or not do any housework for a month. 😀

This is so amazing! So much thought and hard work! I had a birthday party for my son in December with airplanes as the theme and it was so so much work and fun.. Add to that I was packing and shifting to Jakarta a week later! :-). I too had designed a lot of stuff..so I can imagine how much effort has gone in this party. It looks totally awesome, so proffessional! And great photos too Kaho.
If you don’t mind can you ask ana where she got the small party bags printed..the blue cloth bags with the spaceship on it?
Kaho..you really do a great job with your blog. I started reading it two days back and I am still on it! :-).
Kaho says
Trupti, Thank you so much! Yes, I will ask Ana about the rocket print bags. 🙂
wanda says
Thanks a lot Kaho and Anna for the information.. I will start reading Anna’s blog too now because she is just super creative. Thanks for sharing your findings in these blogs ladies. I’m often inspired after reading them. Look forward to your upcoming posts 🙂 take care.

amazing!! 本当すごい!
did Ana made all the decor and the snacks too?
wait a minute, was this a party in Jakarta? I’ve never seen a party as amazing as this one ever in Indonesia 😀
Kaho says
Chelle, thanks for your comment! Yes. The party was in Jakarta! I’ll let Ana answer your question, too!
Ana Gaby says
Hi lovely ladies. Thanks for all your kind comments. We had a blast preparing the party and my son, Evan had a fantastic time at his party.
@ Trupti, The goodie bags were already printed with the spaceship. I bought them online. I’m sure you can get something similar printed at snappy in Jakarta. They print t-shirts so as long as you bring the logo o design you want they can probably print on any fabric.
@Chelle, Almost everything was home-made. Most of the decor was made with the printable kit I got online and for the rest I got fabric and supplies at Pasar Majestic. My sister was visiting so we had a great time making stuff together. As for the food and snacks they were also home-made. I’m not a great cook but I love to bake specially cupcakes! 😉
Kaho says
Thank you a million for answering the questions despite your busy schedule!!!! (I’m bowing)
Chelle Handojo says
@Ana amazing! I really love the ‘all home-made’ kind of party 😀 this is pretty rare here in Indonesia so.. yeah.. you’re amazing! 😀
Marie @etincellestudio says
Many lovely ideas I would steal in this party! I am he most stunned by the space ship made of cardboard: simply amazing!!!
