Rattan furniture has been trending on social media. If you enter “bohemian interior design” or “Scandinavian interior design” in a search engine, rooms decorated with rattan furniture are spotted in many of the image results.
It is probably possible to buy rattan furniture in number of countries in the world. In fact, the rattan swing chair in the photos in this post is from Mumbai, India. To see my blog post on our swing chair, please click here.
Apparently one of the largest sources of rattan furniture has been the Philippines according to The Spruce. However, I didn’t find it easy to find reasonably priced rattan furniture in Manila. I learned about ADR Rattan Industry thanks to a closed Facebook page called Ma’am Manila. By the way, Ma’am Manila has been a wonderful and helpful source of information for expat life in Manila.
The Philippines certainly has been a wonderful inspiration for the tropical interior design. Rattan pieces are definitely an integral part of design typical of this region. The natural color of rattan goes very well with neutral colors as well as bright colors.
I recently bought 3 pieces of rattan furniture to add to my home. As I plan for our next home after the summer, I wanted to acquire a few new rattan pieces. There are 3 reasons why I went for the material: They are trendy, light weight and pretty. I selected 2 coffee tables and one stool. Why? Because they are versatile. They are great for personalizing any space.
FAMILIY ROOM
The rattan coffee table fits in well in the space. The one industrial coffee table was looking a bit lonely, so it’s nice to have another table. I especially love the design on the side. This table is surprisingly light which is great for our lifestyle of moving from one country to another.
I paid P5,000 for this coffee table.
DINING ROOM
I love having the stool next to a peacock chair, which is also a signature piece from the Philippines. I’ve always wanted something there and now I finally do.
LANDING
The big coffee table has been in use ever since we received the shipment. My middle daughter has been doing online schooling in this room now. Before the coffee table had joined the space, this area of landing was not frequently used except for watching movies on weekends. The coffee table was the key!
This coffee table was P6,000.
If you would like to buy rattan furniture from the same vendor, here is the company I used. I do recommend them.

I neither work for any organization for reviews nor have enough money to explore different options. Thus, I am writing this based on my own experience. I have paid for all the furniture I have purchased in Manila. I’m sure there are many other competitors. I hope you are satisfied with yours.
If you are in market for rattan furniture, best of luck in your quest to find the furniture you love. Happy home decorating!!
