Ramen Kuroda
I stumbled upon Ramen Kuroda when they just opened one in Glorietta 5. Since the menu and pricing looked great, I took a mental note and sent my husband a photo of the restaurant. One day we had a chance to have a lunch date and we decided to go to Ramen Kuroda.
Ramen Kuroda opened its first restaurant in Manila in 2015. There are already 17 Ramen Kuroda shops in the Philippines as of today according to their website.
Their passion is to bring Japanese-quality ramen to everyday Filipino experience. Their price point proves that their goal is to make their ramen available for any Filipinos. In Japan ramen is available to anyone: rich, poor, old, young, business people, students, couples, families, etc. It would be nice to see ramen become the food that connects people in the Philippines as well.
In Manila, you can access pretty much any cuisines from the world. There are a wide variety of Japanese restaurants available in Manila and I find many of them quite authentic. I feel fortunate to be in the city outside of Japan where I can eat just like I used to in Japan. I would love Filipinos to be able to enjoy Japanese food as well, but they are not always something that are accessible because of the pricing. Ramen Kuroda seems to have figured that out.
Here are some photos of the interior of the restaurant as well as the ramen we ordered at the end. They seem to have the same design theme at all the branches. It’s cool, clean and stylish. Enjoy!
