All the furniture and even the rug in this room were provided by my husband’s office. The lamps and decorative pieces are ours. When we go overseas, we usually live in a furnished housing with the furniture in this style which I don’t know what it’s called, classic style? We also brought some small furniture pieces we own that I love to take with us to feel like it is our home and you can spot them in our living room. The furniture we get is nice and I am grateful that they provide us with the furniture, but the colors and style are not what I would pick for ourselves.
Our guest bedroom used to look like this.
BEFORE
Since I decorated our bedroom 5 months ago, I have always felt that something was missing in this room. It’s a room that we don’t use often. My bedroom in Jakarta looked like this below.
Click here for the photos of a guest bedroom in our previous home in Jakarta.
I like the idea of painting. I actually have the same exact bird wall decal in white that I used in the guest bedroom in our previous home shown in the above photo. I thought about painting our current guest bedroom in our home in Mumbai, India, but it’s a lot of work and cost money.
Then I saw this bed cover at Sanctum in Bandra, Mumbai. I thought to myself, this could be it! It was the easiest and low cost makeover of the room that I really love. The colors go well with our favorite Nishijima paintings, too.
AFTER
I featured Sanctum on my blog. Please click here to see photos of the Sanctum Store!
I always love seeing before and after photos right next to each other. So, here they are.
BEFORE & AFTER
What do you think?

Looks great and modern. I wish I had the same magic touch as you… Are those prints by Clifton Karhu by any chance?
Kaho says
Thank you! I love modern! I am sure you do have the magic touch! I don’t know if I do, but whatever I can do, anyone can do! I wish I know, but I am terrible with designers’ names. I will have to ask the store, Sanctum about the designer for the print. Thanks for visiting!

I love what you’ve done! Definitely looks much better. That missing “something” was
“color” 😉
Kaho says
Glad you thought so, too! I like having these colors in there, too, to distract my eyes from the furniture which I am not such a big fan of. 😛
