With this photo project with KOI Restaurant & Gallery, I am assigned a subject or area where the photos need to be taken for the day. If the subject is a space in the gallery with furniture, I get to decorate the area with the items in the gallery. I love interior design and it is truly a dream comes true to get to decorate the space with whatever I want in the store in whatever the way I want.
I was at first overwhelmed with the pressure I felt because I am a total amateur as a photographer and I have no experience for interior designing. Since I don’t have self-confidence due to lack of experience, I was more worried about the idea of what if my work does not meet the expectation and I lose a position with the project. There are so many talented people out there! I guess it’s natural to feel nervous about trying something completely new. I know how fortunate I am to be able to do this project and have so much fun with it. All I can do is to do my best and enjoy it. I will try to learn from my mistakes.
I hope you like what you see here!

It looks like you’re doing a pretty super job. I would have never guessed you to be an amateur of either.
Nice work!

VEry nice for a non-professional Kaho! You have the eye for it. I am pretty sure if you take classes you will be even more awesome. I have a friend who teaches photography, he used to be the photographer in TimeOut but is now publishing head of another company. Let me know if you & your friends are interested in taking classes!

Thanks! I still don’t have an SLR, so maybe after I buy one. I don’t think I even qualify to take classes without an SLR camera! It’s just me styling and taking the photos. No one else. It’s a single person project. 🙂
