Pantry Organization
Once in a while I get an urge to reorganize my home. Thus, I recently tackled my pantry. This was my second time to pull everything out of the pantry in a Marie Kondo style to go through the content since we had moved to Manila 9 months ago. This time I wanted to incorporate clear storage containers to achieve a better and cleaner look inside the pantry.
My inspiration for the look was the pantry that I saw at my friend, Ayessa’s home. She is a professional organizer and a founder of MinimaLUXE in Manila. Below is the photo of her sparkling clean pantry.
One weekend without any social plans came and I took it as a good opportunity for me to tackle my task. I had constantly organized my pantry, but for some reason I felt that I still didn’t know everything I had stored in the pantry. I hoped that going through an inventory would help. With the cute assistance of my two younger children, I removed everything out of the pantry. It felt so refreshing to empty it out completely. When I looked at everything that used to be packed inside the pantry, I was stunned and shocked. It was overwhelming.
Just like Marie Kondo says, in the process of tidying up, it feels as though your space gets worse. It was true. It would get better, though. It was tiring to think of place to put items back in the pantry, but the tiring effort definitely paid off and it was worth the labor. The best part was that my kids enjoyed it!
Here are some photos of before and after shots to see the differences.
Before & After of Pantry Organizing
Organized Pantry
It is quite satisfying to be able to know what we have in the pantry at a glance. Now I enjoy walking into the pantry so much that I end up spending extra time just to browse. I know I’m weird like that. I just love
living in an organized and clutter-free home! I am still trying to figure out how to improve even more. With a better visibility, it is now much easier to check and know how much of each ingredients we have. I have no doubt that it will help me avoid purchasing the duplicate items like I used to do.
