Indian Design Inspired Tube Top In Mint Green & Silver

This post is dedicated to my friend, Micky, whom I met in Mumbai, India when we lived there until 2016. She is a Malaysian fashion designer. As a farewell gift (before her departure from Mumbai), she made me this beautiful mint green and silver tube top inspired by the Indian saree top.

During our time in Mumbai, she and I met through our mutual friend. We connected especially since we have boys who are the same age. We lived in the same neighborhood, so they used to have regular playdates. Those were the golden days!

Since she is a designer and I am a blogger, we collaborated and created several of my regular fashion blog contents which I used to have. I also ordered two cocktail gowns from her. You can see them if you scroll down and click on the links provided below. I had such fun memories with her!

This top has always stayed in the corner of my mind because I haven’t been able to create a post about it. At the same time, I hesitated to write about it now using my photos since I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about exposing a lot of skin. If you know what I mean. At my age, I think about it more.

However, I decided that I will create a post about this tube top because I believe that Micky’s beautiful creation deserves to be featured.

During her stay as an expat in Mumbai, she was not able to work as a designer. However, even after several years of gap, she picked up her gig as a designer after she and her family had returned to her hometown, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

For textile fans, there may not be many places you find more inspiring than India. Living overseas challenged her in continuing her career as a profession, but she never gave it up and always stayed connected with her passion; designing, creating and love for textiles. She is truly talented and inspiring.
