Wednesday Wall2Wall ☆ Livingetc Indonesia & My Home

Our home in Jakarta, Indonesia was featured on Livingect Indonesia June 2011 issue. I knew about Livingetc Indonesia because during the first couple of months after our arrival to Jakarta, I asked one employee at a hip Indonesian furniture store what local interior design magazines she would recommend. One of the names of the magazines she gave me was Livingetc Indonesia. I like reading local magazines because it tells you the information where to get cool stuff locally. Even though I don’t read Bahasa Indonesian well enough to read a magazine, I can grasp some information through browsing.

When I received an email message from one of the editors, Atri, with Livingetc I thought she was asking to put some photos of my home on her blog. It turned out that she was asking to do a photo shoot with their photographer to publish photos on the magazine. I was floored. I can only think that I was super lucky as Atri, the editor for Livingetc Indonesia, happens to be a blogger and she found my blog. Thanks, Atri!

Atri was born in Indonesia, but grew up overseas. She spent her youth in England, so needless to say her English is impeccable. I checked out her blog, rainbowmadness and I found it very interesting! Blog world is fascinating. You never know who you meet.

Livingetc Indonesia has full of gorgeous photos with heaps of inspiration and ideas to decorate your space. I don’t know too many magazines, but I would say it is one of the best looking interior magazines I’ve seen. I don’t know if Livingetc Indonesia magazines are exported to outside of Indonesia, but if you live in Indonesia or have a chance to visit Indonesia, please do check out Livingetc Indonesia!!

私たちのジャカルタの自宅のインテリアの写真が、Livingect Indonesiaの2011年6月号に掲載されました。ジャカルタに到着した後の最初の1ヶ月くらいの時に、とある素敵な家具屋さんの店員さんに、インドネシアのインテリア雑誌で何がお勧めか聞いてみたところ、Livingect Indonesiaが答えのうちの一つに入っていました。私はローカルの雑誌を読むのが好きです。インドネシア語は雑誌を読む程できないのですが、雑誌を捲って見ているだけで、現地のどこで可愛いもの面白いものが入手できるか情報が分かるからなのです。

Livingect Indonesiaの編集者のうちの一人である、アトリがEメールで連絡をくれた時、彼女の雑誌に私の自宅の写真を載せたいのかな？と最初思いました。そうしたら、実はそうではなく、専属のカメラマンを連れてうちで家の中の撮影をして、その写真が雑誌に載るという事でした。まさか自分の家が雑誌に載るなど想像したことも無く、それを知った時、とってもびっくりしました。ブロガーであるアトリさんが、私のブログを偶然見つけてくれたのは、非常にラッキーな事でした。アトリ、ありがとう！

アトリはインドネシア生まれですが、海外で育ち、幼少期をイギリスで過ごしました。それなので、彼女の英語は申し分ありません。彼女のブログrainbowmadnessを見てみたら、面白かったですよ（英語です）。ブログって、誰と巡り会うか分からない、未知の世界ですね！
