I wrote in my previous post that I would not post Friday Finds, but I changed my mind!
I took my girls to ice skating with my friend, her daughter and our friend’s daughter this morning. Ice Skating is part of the Winter Wonderland event held at Pondok Indah Mall in South Jakarta (the ice skating is at Pondok Indah Mall 2 on Ground Floor). My girls have been asking me to take them to skating ever since they heard about Sky Rink Jakarta, ice skating rink at Taman Anggrek Mall some time ago. Since there was a special event for the holiday at Pondok Indah Mall and it is much closer and easier for me to take my kids to Pondok Indah, I decided to take the girls to ice skating first thing in the morning today.
My oldest just got a pair of roller blade for Christmas this year and she kind of mastered to roller blade in the past two days, so she started skating as soon as she got to the rink.
My middle child was excited, but it was her very first time on the ice, so needless to say at first it was hard, but after I got in the rink with her and started pulling her hand, she got more confident. In the end, she would hold onto the side and would go around the rink all by herself.
My girls had so much fun! So, I thought I had to share this with you all before the event at Pondok Indah Mall ends! The information says it lasts until January 8, 2013. I recommend getting there for the first session (session schedule below) to avoid the crowd.
Information I obtained was available on AdaDiskon.com.

i am always surprised to see how fast the kids can pick up a skill. I did ice skating for the first time 2 years back in Singapore Kallang leisure park. it was very difficult for me to keep my both legs aligned cos the minute i leave my hand from the rink, both my legs goes in opposite direction and i fell down too many times. I really don’t want to break my bones so i don’t skate anymore. I mean i don’t even attempt to do that. Good to know that your 1st daughter mastered roller blades in 2 days. Kids are very smart. They don’t have fear.

I think fear is what blocks adults mind from learning something new. Also our bodies are much more stiff than kids for sure. I learned how to skate when I was little and I love it, but I’m just ok.

Thanks for your lovely comments on my blogs (yes, sometimes I wonder about the sanity of having three). It is great to have a new expat blog buddy in Indonesia. We will be back at the end of March, until then loving the Aussie summer. Have a lovely festive time.
