My Texan husband and I lived in Austin for 2 and a half years a year after our marriage. Austin has numerous wonderful Tex-Mex restaurants all over the city. Ever since we moved away from Austin, we often miss Tex-Mex or Mexican food and we are inclined to search for Mexican restaurant as soon as we move to a new city.
We heard about Hacienda from other expats and they all seem to like it, so one day towards the end of last year (2010) we tried the restaurant. (I wrote this a while back and kept it for the day I can post.) We had a good experience. It has a good ambiance and good dishes that are priced reasonably. When we miss Tex-Mex, this is the place we go. Hacineda also has catering service.

Plaza Senayan Arcadia is located behind Plaza Senayan Shopping Mall. If you tell a taxi driver “Plaza Senayan Arcadia”, he should know, but if not, you can get off at Plaza Senayan and walk to the Arcadia. It’s just across the street from the back of Plaza Senayan Shopping Mall building.
If you live in Jakarta, you can also use another service to have Mexican food delivered to your home. An American lady, Mary Anne Wiley, has a food delivery and catering service in Jakarta and you can subscribe to her menu by email. (Upper Crust by Mary Anne Wiley: wileychj@rad.net.id
) My blogger friend, Sweet Batik, wrote about her and you can read her post here to learn more about it.
I hope you all have a great weekend!

I totally miss Mex/Tex-Mex too here in Jakarta!!! They have so few! I’ve been to Hacienda but we found it a bit expensive… but then again we are from the Phils =P We’ve been meaning to go to Chilis but it’s so far and out of the way! So basically when we have the craving I cook up a big pot of chili and whip up some corn and cilantro salsa and guacamole!
Thanks so much for sharing the caterer Kaho! I am so happy and can’t wait to try her! (It takes 2 hours to cook my chili!) =P

YUUUM! You are making this Texan who lives in Germany totally jealous. That place looks great! They don’t have many, if any good ones over here. And no one can truly do TexMex like they do at home 🙂
Stopped over from Around the World in a Day hop and really glad I did. Have a great Sunday!

Kaho, have you tried Taco Local? It’s a small taqueria on Jl. Panglima Polim 5, near the 7-11. It’s pretty good.

I’ve heard about it and my friend said it’s good! I’ll have to check it out.
