Girl’s Room with Pom-poms
My daughter and son share a room. The photos of this same room which were taken in August 2013 can be seen in this post. If you see the photos in the post “Kids Room For Boy & Girl“, you can see that I have added tissue paper pom-poms on the ceiling to add more to the room. We love the look. It is interesting that the room looks more cozy and fuller than without pom-poms. I recycled tissue paper pom-poms and lanterns from Martha Stewart after I have used them for birthday parties. The first batch came from a dessert table decor for a Bollywood Dance Birthday Party I threw for my two girls in 2013. The second batch was lanterns which were used for the pink birthday party decor for my middle one in 2014.
My family and I move around every 3 years for my husband’s job. The photo below is how this same room looked when we first moved in followed by a photo of the same space taken after I decorated.

We live in a furnished rental home when we go overseas. It is great, but because of that we have a weight limit for how much household items we can ship overseas without being charged extra shipping fee. When you include furniture, we can easily reach the limit. For my children’s room, I like to have simple white furniture pieces instead of dark brown furniture that we are provided with the housing. IKEA is an ideal place to find any light furniture that I can ship overseas with our household goods. I love this LACK high gloss white table as a night stand for my girls. It is a very versatile piece that I used as a coffee table in a hallway we had in our home in Jakarta. You can see the photos in the post Hallway With Helmer Drawer Unit and Arc Floor Lamp. I also have LACK tables in a study in our current home in Mumbai. You can see how I use LACK tables with MAMMUT stools in our study in a post “Mint Green Study & Kids Drawing Room“. They make great kids drawing tables.
I hope you will enjoy seeing the photos of my girl’s room with pom-poms!

Kaho, you have such a phenomenal taste. I love how the cover matches the rugs, and the little décor details like colorful lanterns which echo the pompons. Beautiful space!

Thank you, Nano!! I enjoy decorating. I loved that things I have collected over time came together nicely in this room.

Adorable and inviting! You may be starting a new trend – replace canopy beds with pompoms for a modern twist on the textured structural look!

Thank you for the comment!! It would be cool if it becomes a trend! I love pompoms as they are cheap, but pretty decoration, and they fill so much space!
