Every summer, we try to visit both sides of our families in Texas and Tokyo. It is important for us to see our family especially for our children to get to know their families. I love the uniqueness of the San Antonio culture that is very much influenced by the Mexican culture.
When we stayed in San Antonio this time, where some of my husband’s family lives, my mother-in-law and step-father-in-law took us to El Mercado. At El Mercado there are both outside and indoor markets where you can buy many goods from Mexico. It was nice to have the indoor option as the weather was quite hot and steamy during summer in Texas.
Cheerful colors brighten up the Market Square, El Mercado.
The beautiful blend of the American and Mexican cultures in San Antonio makes this city so special and charming.
This summer, I’ve been enjoying my new 50 mm lens which I got for my birthday this month. I love it.
After we did some window shopping at El Mercado, we had lunch at Mi Tierra.
Not only for the great Tex-Mex food Mi Tierra serves, but also for their wall mural with famous people from San Antonio is quite well-known at Mi Tierra.
I had delicious Tortilla Soup.
After lunch, we rode a trolley.
We had a great day!! Thanks, D&D!
