Copen Local Base Kamakura
A HIP LIFESTYLE CAFE
Copen Local Base Kamakura is a lovely cafe with a beach vibe. (Kamakura in Japan is near the coast.) Its location is a 4-minute walk from the Kamakura station. To me it is not an ordinary cafe. I find it unique because the cafe provides educational and socializing aspect to visitors whether they share interests in cars or not.
Copen Local Base has a Copen convertible displayed for fans as well as those who are regular cafe customers. This showroom type of cafe was created by Daihatsu Car Company. It is a place where locals can hang out and socialize while they are provided with information on Copen. The concept for Copen Local Base is a life style shop that gives roots to the community by educating the people through Copen cars. Not only does Copen Local Base allow automobile fans to learn about Copen, but it also provides the opportunities for anyone to look, touch and feel a Copen car in person while enjoying what the cafe offers.
My husband spotted Copen Local Base when we were on an Enoshima Dentestu train. (The Enoshima Dentetsu runs right behind the cafe. Photo shown below.) Knowing that I love beautiful cafes, he pointed it out to me from the train. It was a white modern building with big windows all around which totally captured my heart.
I wasn’t the only one who loved hanging out at the Copen cafe. My kids also enjoyed playing with the displayed Copen car as well as some coloring paper, colored pencils and books. The staff was very friendly, too. As a parent to 3 kids who need entertainment all the time, it was a bonus to be at Copen Local Base to take a break before embarking on another long train ride!

This above is the face most parents probably don’t want to see when their children are driving.
How cool is this display of wall art?
Enoshima Dentestu trains pass by behind the cafe building. We loved watching the trains that have many fans among train lovers in Japan.
This was a way overdue post which I have postponed to publish for months. I hope you have enjoyed it!!
