This room is usually our workout room/yoga room/guest bedroom. Since I moved the furniture to a different corner in the room, it currently looks slightly different, but you get the idea from the photo below.
It’s usually an empty room where I practice yoga. My middle and youngest children share a room. We have enough rooms to give them each a room, but I chose to put them together in one room. You can see their room in my home tour post.
Transform A Rental Home Into Your Own Home ☆ Before & After Photos
We had guests over the weekend. We don’t have extra beds, but we brought our Japanese futon mattresses with us. I stacked two mattresses each on the floor and brought a chair from my teen daughter’s room to fill the space in the corner.
Voila!
A yoga room was converted into a guest bedroom.
It’s nothing fancy. I have slept on it, but being a Japanese, it’s no big deal to sleep on the floor. Hopefully our guest were able to sleep well on our futons mattresses.
Below is a few photos to demonstrate the transformation of a corner of the room from the time we moved in to now. The guest room is temporary and as soon as our guests have left, I removed the bed linens, took them to the laundry and put away the mattresses. I store all the mattresses under all of our beds. Super convenient!
This is how I create a guest bedroom. It’s nothing complicated and the room is very basic and plain. However, you can’t beat the convenience. Having futon is actually very practical for sleepovers, too. I love Japanese futons!
