AREA RUG CLEANING SERVICE IN MANILA
We had our two rugs in the family room as well as the living room professionally cleaned in Manila by a carpet cleaner, Mr. Yaseen in Manila. I am very pleased with the result and I thought I would like to share the information with other people who live in Manila, especially the expats who are looking into getting their carpets cleaned.
The photo above is the rug after the cleaning. If you scroll down, you can see the close up photos of the rug where you can see the condition before the cleaner came to pick it up. We used to have this same rug from IKEA under our dining table in our home in Virginia.

When the rug was placed under the dining table, the stains didn’t bother us as much. However, rugs get quite filthy from all the food particles and sauce that get on them in dining rooms. The trend on social media seems to be an area rug in a dining room and some of these rugs look quite difficult to clean. I wonder how everyone keeps them clean.
What pushed me to finally have the rug in the family room professionally cleaned was the water leak we had in this room in August 2019. The brown water that leaked from the ceiling stained the rug brown and it looked like a different rug.
AFTER PROFESSIONAL CLEANING
Our rug came back sparkling clean after Mr. Yaseen brought it back. The white part of the rug was returned to white. I feel that it makes the room look so much better even though the difference was subtle.

These photos below are the rug before the wash. You can see the condition of our rug before the professional cleaning. Because of the poor lighting, you may not see well in some photos, but this rug looked even worse in person.

LIVING ROOM WITH AFTER CLEANING OF THE AREA RUG
Since I was very impressed with the condition, I decided to have our rug in the living room cleaned as well.
One thing I noticed with this grey and white rug is that white part gets dirty quickly with young children walking around even without wearing shoes inside. This rug was very inexpensive on Amazon in the States: about USD100. I mentioned to the carpet cleaner, Mr. Yaseen, that the amount of money I would spend on cleaning the rug was almost the same as the rug. He said, “The rugs in Manila are expensive. You can’t find a rug with that price.” It is very true.

CARPET CLEANER YASEEN GHULAM
A carpet business owner, Mr. Yaseen, comes to pick up your rug from your house. He will give you a quote based on the size and difficulty of cleaning. Depending on the weather, it will take up to about a week to clean and dry a rug. It took less than a week for our carpets. Please don’t quote me on this and ask him directly, though.
His staff cleans the rug by hand. He told me that hand washing a rug was much safer than a machine wash. According to him, if you have expensive Persian rugs or wool rugs, they would last longer if you have them cleaned by hands than having them cleaned by a machine. Mine were cheap, so it didn’t matter. Nevertheless, I heard from my friend how she was happy with Mr. Yaseen’s service that I didn’t think twice to look around. I highly recommend his service to you as well.

Thank you for your comment! The good thing about this cleaning services is that they take your rugs and bring them back clean and dry. You don’t have to smell them while they are being cleaned. I’m not sure what soap they use, but this company hand wash rugs and carpet, so I don’t think they use any harmful cleaners although I don’t know for sure. It is another reason why I decided to use this company. Apparently if you have very expensive rugs, hand washing them is the sure way to protect your rugs from damages. My rugs are inexpensive, so I wasn’t worried about that, but it was nice to know that the rugs were hand washed.
