My Japanese friend, Eiko, took me to Cafe Fleur the other day and said I would like it there. As luck would have it, it was Monday, the day when the cafe was closed. (Mondays are often restaurant holiday here.) As curious as I was, I peeked in from the outside. It looked so beautiful that I thought to myself I needed to come back. A couple of days later, I was already back with my friend, Anita.
In Manila there are countless cafes and restaurants that are stylish and wonderful. Cafe Fleur stood out for me, though. The modern neutral tone interior design especially spoke to me. I fell in love with Cafe Fleur for its design, atmosphere, music and food. The interior design reminded me a little bit of those I saw in Jakarta, Indonesia while it also made me think of a style that Japanese people would love. I was totally smitten by the airy open space with ample of natural light, decorated with rattan furniture. Rattan furniture is proudly Filipino. I jokingly told my husband that I would love to live in a home designed like Cafe Fleur. In fact, Cafe Fleur inspired me to buy a few rattan pieces.
The food was delicious with some great vegetarian options. Even though I’m not vegetarian, I love vegetarian dishes and I have many vegetarian friends. Thus, it always helps to know restaurants with vegetarian options. I have a few photographs of the dishes towards the end.
DISHES
There is a bakery where you can buy delicious bread. I recommend their desserts as well!
This is Anita, my bestie, in the photo below. I met her in Jakarta, Indonesia back in 2011 and our families lived in the same cul-de-sac for 2 years. She and her family moved to Manila last year in 2020 during the pandemic, which was exciting news for us! It’s such a rare luck for us to be in the same city again with our good friends. Anita is the one who encouraged me to pursue my passion and hired me to organize and decorate her home. Click here to see her pantry organization post.
You may have noticed that the photos didn’t look like they were taken in one day. You’re right. They were taken over 2 visits.
Thank you, Eiko-san, for introducing me to Cafe Fleur!!

Poblacion is known for its night life, but it feels like the scene is fast changing in the recent past. I have not explored the area enough to talk about it, though. So far, I love all the places I have visited in Poblacion. Streets have character and great atmosphere. Some areas that look like residential areas with some colonial style structures makes me think of Manila from the past. I imagine that Poblacion is a fun area to explore on foot. There is so much to see!

Absolutely pathetic bitch. Why don’t you do something constructive with your life rather than taking pointless photos of cafes and restaurants. Get a Job to start with! And don’t give that bullshit i am a mum with 3 kids so so super busy. There are mums with kids who have full time job either working from home or office. You are completely a lazy slob with house helpers/maids/car driver, living off your husband money, poor you must be so bloody hard when your house maids are doing school run and cooking/cleaning all. When you are doing absolutely fuck all, taking insta photos and writing crappy blog. What a shitty example you are for your kids, being lazy, unambitious, jobless Moron. Get a Life bitch.

take it easy. Its not like your life is exciting since you managed to channel your inner frustration here.

If you have nothing constructive to say please leave your toxic thoughts elsewhere and don’t spread it.
The world doesn’t need violent and nasty thoughts anymore than the war and this pandemic. We could all use more humane ideas that lift each other up.

Dear Kaho, I come to your beautiful blog for both inspiration and for a sense of peace. I appreciate your art both in the exquisite images that you produce and in the design knowledge that you share so generously. The way in which you let people share in your thoughts, feelings, and life speaks of your kindness and wisdom. My life is quite different from yours and that’s why it’s all the more interesting to me to read of your adventures and challenges. Warm wishes, AF
