Every parent has his/her own parenting stories. It feels as though there are more glorious stories available out there than stories of low moments or what the author of Bad Mommy Moments, Cindy, describes as the parenting moments that suck. Often times many parents don’t share the moments that make you feel like you’re failing with their friends, but those are the stories that sometimes people need to hear to feel encouraged. Cindy is the one who can tell you the stories. With her magic words.
Bad Mommy Moments is a collection of classic parenting and post-birth relationship stories that we, the moms, all share to some degree. Cindy adds a spice of humor to her parenting stories which will make you laugh. Even though I gladly accepted the endeavor as a parent almost 9 years ago, it has never been easy. I often have moments where I feel like I’m losing my mind. Cindy’s Bad Mommy Moments has become a reminder that I’m not alone in this game.
Bad Mommy Moments is a book of many short stories, which makes it easier for any readers with a busy life. I found some time to read the book during my girl’s trip to Bali this past May, so Bad Mommy Moments came with me on the trip. Bad Mommy Moments made a great company. It took me a while to write this article as our move from Jakarta to Mumbai consumed my life. My big apology to Cindy for taking so long for me to publish this article. I did not intend to do this!
I had a privilege of meeting Cindy shortly after we had moved to Virginia 5 years ago. We both had two girls of the same age and while our older daughters were in the same ballet class, Cindy and I waited outside in the hall way with our younger girls. I thought she looked like a cool stylish mom and later I had found out that she really was. Through our friendship I have heard some of her stories at first hand. I knew it was her dream to publish and I have seen how hard she had worked. It is nothing but inspiring to know that she made her dream come true.
Bad Mommy Moments was the first book I read in the last 4 years. It reminded me that I could be missing out on a lot if I don’t read. Thank you, Cindy, for enlightening a life as a mom, wife, and a woman, and for the opportunity to learn more about your life through the book.

Thanks for sharing this book, Kaho-san. After reading your post I went straight to Amazon and read a little preview of it. And I’ve gotta say, I’m sort of relieved that there’s a book like this out there.
Ever since I started blogging this year, I’ve read so many posts and stories about all of these wonderful moms who seem to be living ideal lives with their angelic kids. Now, don’t get me wrong, my daughter is great, but sometimes I fee like pounding my head against the wall when she wakes up for the tenth time in three hours in the middle of the night. Oh wait, let me change that to, sometimes I DO pound my head against the wall!
Anyway, I love that you shared this. We’re all just human, after all, right?
Oh, and I am now waiting for the book to arrive at my door 😉

Miwa, I am so happy to hear this!! You’re my buddy. I do have moments when I pound my head against the wall or cry with my kids when I’m so exhausted and feel helpless. I agree with you that it’s a relief to know that there is a book that tells the dark stories of motherhood with a light of humor!
