ArteFino ☆ Filipino Popup Market in Manila
ArteFino is a pop-up market with fine Filipino crafts and art work created by talented Filipino artisans. I had a chance to visit the first day fo ArteFino 2018 this year thanks to my wonderful friend who brought me there. The market will take place until September 2, 2018. If you are reading this and interested in going, I hope these photos will help you!
The ArteFino reminded me of Brightspot Market and Inacraft in Jakarta and Lil Flea and Stylecracker Borough in Mumbai. I always have so much fun discovering new artists from each country. Pop-up markets are the best place to discover your favorite designers and brands because they are all curated by the organizers and you get to chat with the designers. It’s the best!
I wanted to quickly post this so that I can spread the word about the ArteFino to those who might not be aware of this event. I would have not gone there unless my wonderful friend, Jen, invited me to go there with her. We first went to a brunch organized by a closed Facebook group for expat women in Manila. The brunch was lovely. It allowed me to meet with some wonderful and friendly expat ladies that I would have not been able to meet.
By the way, this friend of mine is the one who took us to a restaurant on the first day in Manila, showed me and my kids around the city and took me to The Alley at Karravin. She has been helping me discover and find answers to all the questions I have had. She is like my angel and a big sister that I never had.
The reason why I have this blog is because not everyone has a friend like Jen. I really hope that some of the posts I publish here will help new expats to find a way to navigate some of the cities I covered or feel that they are not alone in the journey of discovering a brand new city. I’m here for you!
