Breakfast At Antonio’s in Tagaytay Batangas
Breakfast at Antonio’s totally surpassed our expectation. It was one of the best breakfast restaurants we have gone in the Philippines!
When you have out-of-town visitors come visit you in Manila, going on an excursion to Tagaytay and Breakfast At Antonio’s would be a great idea. I loved everything about the restaurant: the setting, design, atmosphere, food and service.
The restaurant is located in Tagaytay, Batangas, the area known for Taal Lake. Taal Lake is a freshwater lake with a volcano island. What’s special about this island is that there is a lake inside the crater of the volcano island. If you would like to understand why this lake is interesting, click here to read about it.
Location
Breakfast at Antonio’s is located approximately a 2-hour drive from Manila. It would be a perfect place to have either breakfast, lunch or dinner when you go on a hike at Taal Lake. Breakfast at Antonio’s is one of Antonio’s Group Restaurants. The group also owns a restaurant called Antonio’s. It is an upscale restaurant in a beautiful setting about 2.2 km uphill from Breakfast At Antonio’s. It is one of the top recommended restaurants that I received since we arrived one year ago. We are yet to try it, but hopefully we will make our way out there one day!
Amazing Bakery
The baked goods at Breakfast At Antonio’s was to die for. We bought some apple pies, pains au chocolat and a loaf of bread. My family loved the Japanese bread I bought at this bakery and they want to go back just for that bread.
Popular Breakfast Restaurant Experience
We stopped at Breakfast at Antonio’s on our way to Matabungkay Beach Hotel. It broke our trip into two segments, which helped make the road trip easier. The location is also on the way to the hotel and can’t be beaten. We arrived at Breakfast At Antonio’s around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. We were seated after a short wait and the wait for the food was about 20 minutes. Everything was delicious and we all had a food coma after the brunch.
Since we loved it so much, we decided to go back to Breakfast at Antonio’s on our way back as well. Our initial plan was to stop for lunch at Antonio’s on the way home to Manila, but we changed the plan. The dress code for Antonio’s was more formal, so our beach attire would have not been appropriate anyways.
The day we stopped at Breakfast At Antonio’s on the way back from Matabungkay to Manila was the morning of a national holiday in the Philippines. We arrived around 9:30 a.m. thinking we were early. There was a line of cars outside the gate waiting to go in for parking. The restaurant was packed. We waited for about 10 minutes to get seated, which was not bad at all. Then after we ordered, we were told that some people had to wait for about 45 minutes to receive their food. We waited for an hour from the time we placed an order till we all received our plates. The food was worth the wait, though. I am writing this so that you know that it may not make a quick stop to have brunch if you go there on a holiday. Just something to keep in mind.
We would love to go back to Breakfast At Antonio’s again.
