For those people who follow Bombay Jules, The Raj Company has already been introduced in this article on Bombay Jules blog. Julia of Bombay Jules has left Mumbai in June, 2014, probably shortly after she published that post. She is greatly missed by Mumbaikars. For those non-Mumbai residents who haven’t heard of Bombay Jules (expats in Mumbai most likely have heard of her), she was a British expat who became one of the most well-known expat bloggers in Mumbai. I learned about her blog in 2012 shortly after my husband had found out that we were moving to Mumbai in 2013.
I had a chance to visit The Raj Company with my friends before going to the StyleCracker Borough which took place in the Mahalaxmi Race Course. (The Raj Company is located across the street from The Mahalaxmi Race Course.)
If you have visited my blog and seen my home, you known that I am fond of simple contemporary designs such as those you find in Scandinavian countries. However, living in India, where you see beautiful antique furniture everywhere, it is natural that you develop interest in the antique items. Plus, I am aware that antique furniture shopping is very popular in India and expats who live in Mumbai are not exceptions even though some other furniture designs are available in town. So, there I was following my friends into the world of antique and colonial design furniture.
Since there are already beautifully written articles about The Raj Company by Bombay Jules, I’ll place the links to her two articles below. Please click below for more information on The Raj Company.

I tried to take photos of some furniture pieces that I find pretty or interesting. I hope you’ll enjoy them. All the photos were taken on my iPod Touch. I did not take my DSLR as I knew we would be going shopping at StyleCracker Borough, a designers pop-up market and later to a farewell get together.
What do you think? If you live in Mumbai, it’s one of the places you would probably want to visit. It was quite fun!
